About
Piera Cirefice is a freelance Illustrator, based in the UK with a BA(Hons) degree in Illustration from Falmouth University.

Having grown up around the Mourne Mountains, the beauty of the outdoors fuels her work, with travel reportage Illustration at the heart of her practice. Using traditional methods like watercolour and referencing cartography she aims to document the landscape: the flora and fauna, as well as the tales tied to that land, all with an underlying emphasis on ecological concerns.

Through en plein air watercolour, Piera hopes to capture the atmosphere of the living landscape, creating a sense of immediacy by documenting her personal response to the landscape at that moment in time. Influenced by the writings of Nan Shepherd and John Muir, her work is guided by the idea that to go out into nature is to look inwards into oneself.
