When it’s not actually raining here, I am rushing up to the hills for a run to catch that rare glimpse of a winter sunset…keeping the cabin fever at bay and helping to keep me relatively sane 😅

I treated myself to the two scents: “Pan au Chocolat” & “Warm Buttery Croissant” which come beautifully gift wrapped with these gorgeous photography prints of the irish landscape ✨

If only I could convey the candles’ scents over here, as they have captured that exact smell of warm buttery pastries straight out of the oven! Perfect for cosy evenings in this winter 😊

One of my favourite spots on Anglesey/ Ynys Môn, Llanddwyn Island is a must if you find yourself exploring the island! And even better if the tides are in your favour and you can catch a sunset view of the Llŷn peninsula in the evening. With views like this it's not hard to see why it's such a beloved site.

I had a lovely visit back in Nov up to @orielynysmon , where I dropped off lots of stock, old and new from the Eryri collection, as well as this new Llanddwyn illustration as prints and greeting cards! They also have a christmas fair on atm showcasing some fantastic local makers & creatives, well worth a visit for the upcoming holiday season 👏✨

Starting my "what I got up to in Nov" diaries with a very lovely visit to @orieltymeirion 🌞 Where I got to see all the beautiful work on display & drop off some more of my limited ed framed prints for the current exhibition :
Llwybr Cadfan: Landmarks and Ancient Sites

It was so inspiring to see all the different artist's unique take on the exhibition theme of the pilgrimage trail & as always Mima has done such a beautiful job of curating the exhibition 🌞 I especially loved the new floor mural depicting the map of the pilgrimage trail, anchoring the journey the exhibiting artists went on with points along the map.

The exhibition is running until 20th Dec, just north of Barmouth for folks in the area or visiting!

I had a lot of fun tweaking this map for this year's calendar design, adding on areas of ancient woodlands and the main rivers, as well as marking out more of the smaller mountains which make up the Mournes, and of coarse had to include a raven or two!

One way or another, I was making sure to use my enamel mugs I stock in my shop on the wedding day! It's definitely turned into a running joke that I am constantly trying to get new content for these mugs...and a wedding might be the most elaborate excuse yet!

I struggled the most with deciding on what artwork to use in the seating plan, as the pinterest boards were getting out of hand at this stage😆😅
but in the end I felt I couldn't 't not include my absolute favourite thing to paint..landscape watercolours! It also allowed us to add a more personal touch by choosing locations for the table names that meant something very special to us😊

I struggled the most with deciding on what artwork to use in the seating plan, as the pinterest boards were getting out of hand at this stage😆😅
but in the end I felt I couldn't 't not include my absolute favourite thing to paint..landscape watercolours! It also allowed us to add a more personal touch by choosing locations for the table names that meant something very special to us😊

One of the jobs I was most excited about when it came to wedding planning was illustrating all the stationary, so I thought it would be fun to do a mini wedding series this week, where I share all the stationary I created for our wedding.
Starting off with my favourite- the invites!

The theme for the stationary was summer wildflowers, so I wanted to centre the design around this welsh poppy illustration, as well as highlight the beautiful landscape our venue was set in at @wildelodge
I especially loved working on the two little A6 illustrated maps to accompany the invites!

This commission for the well loved view of the Mournes from Murlough Nature Reserve was such a delight to work on but definitly took a bit more figuring out than my smaller scale commissions!
The images here show how I tackle a bigger scale painting by breaking the landscape up into different sections, working roughly from top to bottom and building up the details with light watercolour washes to create more depth to the piece

So very excited to be apart of this exhibition, capturing the contemporary pilgrimage route of St Cadfan, and to exhibit amongst such talented artists. There is a whole variety of artwork on display from sculpture to printmaking, I myself cannot wait to go visit! Excited to share these new illustrations, which are part of @orieltymeirion new exhibition Llwybr Cadfan: Landmarks & Ancient Sites, now open to the public!
The exhibition is a beautiful collection of some amazing artist's work capturing the recently recognised contemporary pilgrimage route of St Cadfan. Staring in Tywyn and following the coast all the way to Ynys Enlli (Bardsey Island) off of the Llŷn Peninsula.

My work for this exhibition took me along the routes in-between where the dramatic mountains of Eryri sweep down to meet the coastline along Llandanwg beach, and Harlech.

These two new illustrations capturing the panoramic vistas of Eryri's mountains, were documented plein air on a ridiculously bright and sunny early day in March this year, whilst walking sections of the pilgrimage trail, and then later developed into these illustrations back in my studio.

They are currently on display at the exhibition as fine art giclée prints, in a limited edition of 10 🌞

I had the pleasure of creating an illustrated map of Tollymore Forest Park for the lovely folks at @enniskeenestate at the start of the year.
🐿🌿🦌🍄
The glamping cabins and secret spa are situated right on the edge of the forest park, with access straight onto the park trails.
I was spoiled for choice with all the things to illustrate for this map; from the many activities the guests can do (wild swimming in the river, spa, walks & e-bike trails) to the local wildlife and the special historic bridges & structures built within the park itself!

I had the pleasure of creating an illustrated map of Tollymore Forest Park for the lovely folks at @enniskeenestate at the start of the year.
🐿🌿🦌🍄
The glamping cabins and secret spa are situated right on the edge of the forest park, with access straight onto the park trails.
I was spoiled for choice with all the things to illustrate for this map; from the many activities the guests can do (wild swimming in the river, spa, walks & e-bike trails) to the local wildlife and the special historic bridges & structures built within the park itself!
